Culinary restaurant

Behind our hotel, hidden in the greenery, in a charming, thatched country cottage, we opened culinary restaurant Huisje James in late summer of 2016. Here, you can enjoy a culinary lunch in our restaurant or in our garden when the weather is pleasant. In the evening, we serve a 6-course dinner compiled by Chef Laurens Samsen. Make your evening extra special with our matching wine package. Or take a seat at the Chef's workbench and enjoy a 5-course Chef's Table dinner in an exclusive setting.

Huisje James' menu features modern classics, whether meat, fish or vegetarian, delicious desserts and fine wines. The kitchen brigade is inspired by the forest, the Veluwe wildlife and the products from its own vegetable garden. Traditional, qualitative and organic wherever possible. Huisje James was rated 15/20 by Gault Millau in 2023.


Next to Huisje James is the workshop, the barn of the James family who lived in the country cottage a long time ago. Now, the workshop is a cosy and warm reception room for an aperitif before dining in Cottage James.
